Sherie M. Randolph, <\/b>UCSB’s Ella Baker Visiting Professor in the Department of Black Studies\u00a0and Associate Professor of History and African American Studies at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, will discuss her recently published book:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“Florynce ‘Flo’ Kennedy: The Life of a Black Feminist Radical,”<\/b><\/div>\n

on Wednesday<\/strong>, April 27 <\/b>at 12:30pm<\/b> in the Dolores Huerta Room in South Hall 1623<\/b>.<\/div>\n

The former Associate Director of the Women\u2019s Research & Resource Center at Spelman College, she has received several grants and fellowships for her work, most recently being awarded fellowships from Emory University\u2019s James Weldon Johnson Center and the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture.<\/p>\n

Randolph\u2019s book, Florynce \u201cFlo” Kennedy<\/em>:\u00a0The Life of a Black Feminist Radical<\/em> (University of North Carolina Press, 2015), examines the connections between the Black Power, civil rights, New Left, and feminist movements.<\/div>\n
